Opened in October—San Jose Tech Museum. Go to the Exploration gallery and explore the Deep Frontier exhibit. In it, you'll find an interactive exhibit that features MBARI ocean technology, and you'll see MBARI employees in the Ocean People video.

Oct 19—Santa Cruz Sentinel, "Fish-eye lens," featuring National Geographic photographer Emory Kristoff who recently collaborated with Mario Tamburri (MBARI post-doctoral fellow) to record images of deep-sea animals.

Fall—British Broadcasting System (BBC) airing of "X Creatures: Alien in the Abyss," a program about the mysterious giant squid featuring MBARI biological oceanographer Bruce Robison, and filmed in part aboard the R/V Point Lobos in Monterey Bay.
