SeaWiFS

Background

The Sea-viewing Wide Field-of-View Sensor is mounted on the SeaStar satellite.  Spectral data are collected to view global ocean color. SeaWiFS data were used during the MUSE project to help scientists follow upwelling fronts of nutrient-rich waters that attract phytoplankton.
