Abstract:
A SeaBird CTD sensor was deployed within the daytime Odyssey IIb Autonomous Underwater Vehicle. The CTD sensor measured conductivity (pumped SBE-04), temperature (pumped SBE-03), dissolved oxygen (pumped SBE-13 with Beckman), and pH (not pumped SBE-18). The SeaTech light scattering sensor (not pumped S/N 384) and Wet Labs' Wet Star fluorometer (pumped SN WS3S-221) were also deployed within the AUV. The fluorometer and dissolved oxygen sensors were downstream of the CTD with lag times of 2-3 seconds. This data set was collected during the MUSE experiment.
Purpose: These data were collected for oceanographic research.

Process_Description:
Data were sampled and stored within the AUV's internal memory. Post- mission, the AUV was retrieved and all binary data downloaded. Data were translated into ASCII format. For day missions on day 240, the temperature frequency data were very noisy due to an electrical connection problem. Jim Bellingham devised a correction scheme, modified somewhat for each mission, that was applied to the raw data and used in the Processed files. The correction script is called jgb_fix.m and can be found in the Processed AUV/scripts directory. Therefore, the Original dataCTD.dat files (ASCII) contain the raw noisy data, and the Processed files contain the corrected data to be used for subsequent processing. The Processed files also contain a fix applied to the lag times of the fluorometer and dissolved oxygen sensors located downstream of the CTD. Note that the CTD data for mission 2000.240.15 was obliterated by a ctd test. Missions are grouped into specific tracks which may have fallen over a change in the day of the year.
