Abstract:

These data were collected with a ship-towed, undulating vehicle equipped with CTD, bio-optical and chemical sensors. The Sea Sciences Inc. Acrobat LTV-50 vehicle was equipped with a Falmouth Scientific Instruments Micro CTD 3", a SeaTech Light Scattering Sensor, and a WetLabs WetStar Fluorometer. The towed vehicle data was used to study 3-dimensional physical, chemical, and biological structure in upwelling ecosystems and temporal variability driven by short term wind events.

Purpose: These data were collected for oceanographic purpose.

This is original data captured from the instrument. The FSI CTD software collected data at a high frequency(3.03 Hz). A program was written to merge GPS position data and average the high frequency data to 3.03 second periods (10 scans), hence the .avg. These files are considered original data because no despiking or outlier detection has been done on these data.
