Marine geologists at MBARI study geologic processes and geologic features that occur in the ocean. Some specific areas of research include:

- Undersea hydrothermal vents
- Submarine canyons
- Methane in seafloor sediment

Students will work collaboratively to investigate ocean observing systems around the world to gain understanding of the Earth’s oceans and how scientists are studying these ecosystems. |
