Transit 3A was collected between the President Jackson Seamounts and the Blanco Fracture Zone. The line obliquely crosses abyssal hills formed parallel to the Gorda Ridge. The data show 43 ridge-parallel faults. These faults have an average displacement of 31 meters and a range from 4 to169 meters (Clague et al., 2000). At the northern end, this transit also crosses the Cascadia Channel where it crosses through the Blanco Fracture Zone at the north base of the Blanco Ridge.
Transit 3B runs parallel to the Blanco Fracture Zone and crosses the Cascadia and Surveyor Depressions (Embley and Wilson, 1992). Transit 3C continues westward to the south of the East and West Blanco Depressions and along the northern margin of the Tuffs Abyssal Plain. The line also provides high resolution data of part of the regional study of faults in the Blanco Fracture Zone (Dauteuil, 1995). The large-scale setting of these transit lines can be seen in GLORIA sidescan imagery of the region (EEZ-Scan 1984 Scientific Staff, 1986).
