This bright orange comb jelly (ctenophore) in the genus Aulacoctena was photographed by MBARI's remotely operated vehicle Tiburon at a depth of over 3,300 meters. About the size of orange, Aulacoctena feeds by extending two long, sticky tentacles, one of which can be seen (retracted) at the lower right side of the animal. © 2002 MBARI
