Using SHUTCAL 10:50 AM 7/25/97 Dave Wright Shutcal is a utility program that can be uploaded to an OASIS can to allow manual control of the shutters. Shutcal is specifically designed to be used over a direct wire link. It provides a continuous readout of shutter status, with one button control of jogging and homing. It cannot be used over the packet link. If packet link control is desired, use shutcom. The display line looks something like this: 0375 Stopped Closed With the possible motor states being: Stopped | Running | Overload. And the possible paddle states being: Open | Closed | Intermediate. The command options are available by single keystroke as follows: 4 Start moving in CCW direction. 5 Stop moving. 6 Start moving in CW direction. h Set the current position as closed and update the drv_parms. o Call the shutter open routine with the current drv_parms. c Call the shutter close routine with the current drv_parms. Exit. Shutcal must be uploaded to OASIS before use. It exists as a .HEX file and is uploaded as ASCII using any generic terminal program. Note that there is a specific version of the .HEX file for each OASIS ROM, and they are NOT interchangeable. See BobH for the version appropriate to the can you are working with. If you are not sure DO NOT proceed. It is possible to corrupt OASIS if the upload is not done correctly! Uploading "Shutcal" to OASIS 1. Connect serial cable to OASIS and your PC. Hit the reset button. 2. At "OASIS>" prompt, type "load" 3. At your terminal program type your upload command. In procomm, it's 4. Choose the "ASCII" option for upload, and give it file name "SHUTCAL.HEX". 5. When you get the "OASIS>" prompt again, type "cmdadd shutcal a136" NOTE: This value will change depending on the OASIS ROM. 6. OASIS will prompt you three times for parameter types. Respond with 1, 0, 0.
