Southwest Coast Synoptic SST
|
The animation below shows low resolution monthly average sea surface temperature (SST) for the
Southwest synoptic view for the period March 1998 through September 2001. The SST data are from
the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) on the NOAA series polar orbiting
weather satellites. The AVHRR sensor measures radiance from the earth in five bands
or channels with 1.1 km resolution at nadir. They were obtained from
CoastWatch West Coast Regional Node.
The animation is 4mb and may take a few minutes to load. NOTE: The bottom left corner
of the image contains the date.
