From the San Francisco airport
Your drive to Moss Landing will take approximately 2 - 2 ½ hours, depending on traffic and fog.To leave San Francisco Airport take U.S. Highway 101 South, toward San Jose. Stay on US 101 to Prunedale, about 90 miles.
Take Monterey Peninsula Exit in Prunedale onto State Highway 156 West toward Castroville.
In Castroville (about 5 miles) follow signs to State Highway 1 North, toward Santa Cruz.
Take Hwy 1 north for approximately 3 miles to Moss Landing, recognizable by the Duke Energy power plant.
When you reach Moss Landing turn Left onto Moss Landing Road (by The Whole Enchilada restaurant).
Take the first right onto Sandholdt Road. Cross the bridge and turn right.
MBARI is the large building on your left (7700 Sandholdt Rd.)
